The RAMMS project (Reliable and Autonomous Monitoring System for Maritime Structures) is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Grant number: FKZ 03SX422B (funding period: September 2016 – August 2019), project budget: 294.896 EUR
Abstract:
The RAMMS project addresses the combination of load based monitoring (LM) and structural health monitoring (SHM). The main objective of RAMMS is the development of reliable and autonomous monitoring systems for maritime structures. The sub objectives are the fusion of load and structural health monitoring (L-SHM) with environmental influence assessment as well as the contribution of smart sensor technologies in metal and composite-based maritime structures. These objectives focus on the superior aims, which are the improvement of maritime equipment and services, knowledge enhancement of maritime structures to improve production efficiency, improvement of safety due to monitoring, reduction of costs due to failure prevention and maintenance optimization as well as environmental sustainability due to application of lightweight composites.
